Life in a Fog

Life in a fog. Have you ever felt like that? Trying hard to navigate your way through life, uncertain of what lies ahead? That feeling of dread?

This morning, I was driving through the thickest of fog, and could only see just inches in front of me. I got to thinking about what it means to walk by faith and not by sight, about trusting the Lord with all my heart, and not leaning on my own understanding. About acknowledging Him in all my ways so that He would direct my  paths. It gave me peace to look to the One who sees and knows all things, knowing I could fully trust the Good Shepherd to lead me through the uncertainties of this life. (2 Corinthians 5:7; Proverbs 3:5,6; 2 Chronicles 16:9; Psalm 23:1)

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12)

Face to face with Christ, my Savior,
Face to face—what will it be,
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me?

Refrain:
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!

Only faintly now I see Him,
With the darkened veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.

What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
Death is swallowed up in vict’ry,
And the dark things shall be plain.

Face to face—oh, blissful moment!
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.
