Does God hear me?

Do you ever wonder if God hears you?

In King Solomon‘s prayer of dedication, (1 Kings 8:22-53) over and over again, he asks the Lord to “hear from Heaven, and to forgive their sin.” A few other scripture passages came to mind as I was reading this.

“Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:1, 2)

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear me. But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!” (Psalms 66:18-20)

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

I was reading in Ephesians 2:12+13, that apart from Christ, we were strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world, “but now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

Oh blessed hope! Wonderful Saviour! And so my friend, if you are in Christ, and trusting Him for the salvation of your soul, and the forgiveness of your sin, because of what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross, you can rest assured, that God hears you! And if you are yet without Christ, trust Him! If you seek Him, He will surely be found of you!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. I will be found by you, says the LORD.” (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

“The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” (Psalm 34:15)
