The purpose of pain

A Call to Repentance,

“Come, and let us return to the LORD; 
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.” (The Bible; Hosea 6:1-3)

C.S. Lewis said, “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

Choices

In a world of darkness, I choose the light.  In a world of evil, I choose the good.  In times of sorrow, I choose joy.  When Satan deceives me, I choose the truth. When fears arise, I choose the Father’s peace. When religion knocks at my door, I choose a relationship with my Creator, through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for the forgiveness of my sin. When doubts arise, I choose to believe.  What or whom do you choose today?  “Today, if you will hear His (Jesus) voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” -Hebrews 3:7, 8
