Abide with us!

Image
Jesus, after His resurrection, walking with two of his disciples, who didn’t yet recognize that it was him! Yet their hearts, “burned within them,” while He talked with them and opened the scriptures to them. At one point on their journey, when Jesus would have left them and continued on, they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them. (The Bible; Luke 24:29)  If only our hearts would cry out to Him, “ABIDE WITH US!” ❤️ How different our world  ðŸŒŽ then would be!

The purpose of pain

A Call to Repentance, “Come, and let us return to the LORD;  For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight. Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.” (The Bible; Hosea 6:1-3) C.S. Lewis said, “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

The Lord is my Shepherd

Alexander Grose said, “ Where Christ reveals Himself there is satisfaction in the slenderest portion, and without Christ there is emptiness in the greatest fullness .” Jesus is truly all that we need. He is our provider and our provision. He is the only one who can satisfy our souls and the only one who can cause us to say that we do not want for anything. He is our Shepherd and our guide. He is our portion.  The Good Shepherd of our souls is all that we need. -Kristin Schumucker “ The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want .” (Psalm 23:1)
