Things eternal. Fullness of joy. In His presence, peace.

I spent this last week in the hospital caring for a loved one. I saw a lot of suffering. I saw a lot of broken bodies. I saw some very despondent people, and some, although struggling, still had joy, and I wondered what made the difference? I thought about Jesus words from Matthew 4:4, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” I thought about Mary sitting at Jesus feet to hear his word. (Luke 10:39) I thought about those who make the Lord their shepherd through this life versus those who try to do it on their own. I thought about the peace that God gives to those who keep their minds fixed on him.  (Isaiah 26:3) I thought lastly, how important then to, “BE STILL, often, and KNOW God.” (Psalm 46:10) How focused are we on what we can see, instead of what the Lord sees? “For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7) How are we looking on the inside? ♥️

“Do you know my fellow Christian, everywhere and everyplace, men are looking for the image of the Master in your face? And the image you’re reflecting is distorted or is fair, just according to the measure of the time you spend in prayer!”
