The law of the Lord

Psalms 119:130-“The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”


Psalms 1:1, 2-“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.”


Psalms 19:7-“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”


Ezra 7:10-Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.


James 1:22-“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

The Man of Sorrows

There is no sorrow known to mankind that Christ has not experienced. Whatever your struggle this time of year, remember, Jesus knows and understands.  Rejection. False accusations. Loneliness. Pain (emotional, physical). Loss. Betrayal. He is close to the brokenhearted. (Psalm 34:18) He calls out to each one of us, to come to Him. The healer. The redeemer. The Saviour. Let us rise up and go, for the Master has come and calls for us! ❤️ (John 11:28)  He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. God of the Valleys

The truth is, life is full of mountain top experiences + valleys too!  This morning I was reading in my Bible from the book of 1st kings 20:28;  Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The LORD is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I [am] the LORD.’ ” The Lord is SO good + faithful to us even when our faith in Him is small and wavering.  I remember being driven back to the place where my friend Jennifer and I were staying in Africa after a 15 hour day.
