“His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me!”

Matthew 10:29, “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.” -Jesus 


I have witnessed God’s watchful eye, and His loving care, on three different occasions in the last month! 


The first one, I was driving downtown Edmonton, and to my surprise, saw a lady lying down on the sidewalk. Three women just so happened to be walking by when they witnessed her fall. One was talking to her, and monitoring her vital signs, while another was calling for an ambulance. Another man had pulled over to help as well! 


The second, was an elderly lady who had fallen on her face just outside the public washrooms at a park I was at with mom. We just so happened to be coming up to the bathroom at that time! Thankfully she was ok! 


The third, was my Parents vehicle breaking down in really warm weather!! My mom doesn’t do well in the heat! Neither of them had their cell phones, which is unusual for them. Mom had forgotten hers today! A man who witnessed their mishap, stopped to help push their vehicle out of the way of traffic! He then let Dad and Mom use his cell phone to contact my sister who was nearby to rescue them! My Dad is recovering from a shoulder replacement, while mom has a twisted left foot because of a complete tear in the tendon around her ankle, among other conditions! 


Did these people just so happen to be in the right place at the right time, or was this the kind intervention of a loving Heavenly Father, who knows even when a sparrow falls? Great is His faithfulness! 


“I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.” -Psalm 89:1

Are you looking for the light?

Psalms 119:130; The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. John 8:12; Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” 1 John 1:5; This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:7; But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Choices

In a world of darkness, I choose the light.  In a world of evil, I choose the good.  In times of sorrow, I choose joy.  When Satan deceives me, I choose the truth. When fears arise, I choose the Father’s peace. When religion knocks at my door, I choose a relationship with my Creator, through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for the forgiveness of my sin. When doubts arise, I choose to believe.  What or whom do you choose today?  “Today, if you will hear His (Jesus) voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” -Hebrews 3:7, 8
