“Hold my hand for just a second please!”

Image
I was sitting beside her on the deck. She was feeling anxious over many things. Age, and the troubles of this life had become too much for her to bear. “Hold my hand for just a second please,” she asked.  Have you been there friend? That feeling of being alone?  Jesus was too. “Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.” (John 16:32) I started to think of the compassionate heart of God, and His words to us in  Isaiah 41:10,13- “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.” “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) Dear friend, let us lift our heart a...

He came to serve!

Jesus! what a Friend for sinners! Jesus! Lover of my soul; Friends may fail me, foes assail me, He, my Savior, makes me whole. *Hallelujah! what a Savior! Hallelujah! what a friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving, He is with me to the end. Jesus! what a strength in weakness! Let me hide myself in Him. Tempted, tried, and sometimes failing, He, my strength, my victory wins. Jesus! what a help in sorrow! While the billows over me roll, Even when my heart is breaking, He, my comfort, helps my soul. Jesus! what a guide and keeper! While the tempest still is high, Storms about me, night overtakes me, He, my pilot, hears my cry. Jesus! I do now receive Him, [or Jesus! I do now adore Him] More than all in Him I find. He hath granted me forgiveness, I am His, and He is mine. J. Wilbur Chapman

Jesus stood still

Image
He, Jesus, went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say,  “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more,  “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still * (I love that!!) and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him,  “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling YOU.”  And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him,  “What do you want Me to do for YOU?”  The blind man said to Him,  “Rabboni, (Lord) that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him,  “Go your way; your faith has made you well.”  *And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. (Mark 10:46-52) What do YOU want/need Jesus to do for you today? He’s just a cry away...

Life from Death

Planting season is upon us. Upon seeing this beautiful plant, I couldn’t help but think of the following passage from John 12:24, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” (Only this is an apple tree! 😃) I will forever be grateful to the One who laid down his life for me, in death, so I could have everlasting life!!  #ThankYouLordJesusforsavingmysoul!!♥️🙏🏻

God is good all the time!

Some scriptures about the goodness of God in the land of the living, inspite of the circumstances we find ourselves in. We have a great and awesome God who is trustworthy! Call upon Him in the day of trouble! 🙏🏻 Psalms 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You [are] with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep [him] in perfect peace, [Whose] mind [is] stayed [on You,] Because he trusts in You. Philippians 4:6,7  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I [am] God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalms 46:11 The LORD of hosts [is] with us; The God of Ja...

The Just for the Unjust

“Out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man.” Matthew 15:19, 20-The words of Jesus So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this Man” (Jesus my Saviour!) Luke 23:4 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit... 1 Peter 3:18 🎵 “Amazing love! How can it be? That Thou my God shouldn’t die for me?!”

“Oh death where is thy sting?!”

I was sitting at a park with my mom after her appointment today. An appointment to try and get her pain under control. The sun was shining down on us. Behind us was a graveyard where we noticed someone trying to tidy up their loved ones grave site. At that moment, one of my sisters called just to read us a passage of HOPE from Isaiah 35. Mom and I couldn’t hold back the tears. I’ve been around a lot of suffering people being a nurse. The HOPE of Heaven becomes more precious! Is it yours my friend?  The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,  And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God. Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come...
