Holding on for the last 1/2 hour

“Holding on for the last 1/2 hour...” Waiting on God for something? Moses was too. On a mountain top. Waiting to hear from God. Waiting in silence for six days! It wasn’t until day seven that God called out to him!

So Moses arose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up to the mountain of God.

And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we come back to you. Indeed, Aaron and Hur are with you. If any man has a difficulty, let him go to them.” Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain.

Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. (Exodus 24:13-16)

Are we in too much of a hurry to wait in silence before God? Am I? “Search me oh God!” May we heed these words from Psalm 46 today, verse 10, “Be still, and know that I am God...” May that truth sink in. He is God! The Omnipotent (all powerful) one! The Omnipresent (everywhere present) one! The Omniscient (all knowing) one! “My soul, find your rest in God alone!”
