Draw near to God

Image
I’m so glad God made flowers. Notice how they’re always reaching out to find the light? Human beings are like that. Always seeking answers to their unmet needs.  Some may not yet realize that what they are truly searching for is the One who said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life,” and He who said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” - Jesus; John 8:12 & John 15:5  “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” -James 4:8

The place of peace

Are you weary? weighed down? burdened? We all are at times, as was I recently, so I reached out to some friends to ask for prayer, and found that they were in need of prayer too. The Lord Jesus invites us to come to Him in our need. He is able to lift those heavy burdens from us, and meet our every need! (Philippians 4:19) He tells us to cast all our care upon Him because He cares for us! (1 Peter 5:7) What is your need today? Lift it up before the Father in prayer. He is more than able to provide for you! (Psalm 23:1)

Leaving a Legacy

Image
“We are all leaving a legacy. When we walk out of a room, either we leave behind the aroma of Christ that spreads the knowledge of Him everywhere (2 Corinthians 2:15-16), or we are leaving the less pleasant smell of self-promotion or the vacuum of saying and being nothing much at all…A legacy is the accretion of daily decisions to make a difference for Christ: to love Him and love our neighbour, to pursue peace and speak of Him. Today, you will build a small-or perhaps major-part of your own legacy. So do the work God has prepared for you to do and make a difference for Him. After all, we never know when we’ve made our final deposit in the legacy we’re leaving.  Alistar Begg, “Truth for Life 365 Daily Devotions” Photo from Unsplash

The Secret place

Image
In the secret of His presence how my soul delights to hide! Oh, how precious are the lessons which I learn at Jesus’ side! Earthly cares can never vex me, neither trials lay me low; For when Satan comes to tempt me, to the secret place I go, to the secret place I go. When my soul is faint and thirsty, ’neath the shadow of His wing There is cool and pleasant shelter, and a fresh and crystal spring; And my Savior rests beside me, as we hold communion sweet: If I tried, I could not utter what He says when thus we meet, what He says when thus we meet. Only this I know: I tell Him all my doubts, my griefs and fears; Oh, how patiently He listens! and my drooping soul He cheers: Do you think He ne'er reproves me? what a false friend He would be, If He never, never told me of the sins which He must see, of the sins which He must see. Would you like to know the sweetness of the secret of the Lord? Go and hide beneath His shadow: this shall then be your reward; And whene'er you leave the...
